Real Life with Pastor Steve

   Do you have a friend like that?  Is there someone that knows you that well… and loves you anyway?

   Do you have a friend … who is the first person you’d call if you were in a crisis?  When you need encouragement… an ear… a shoulder, who is your support system?

   Do you have a friend like that?

   Ya know… we’re not guaranteed friends in life.  But we are guaranteed trouble!  (Ok, now we all feel a lot better, right?)

   Jesus told us that “in this world, you will have troubles.”  But then He said… “but do not be afraid, for I have overcome the world.” 

   So how does He overcome the effects of the world in our lives?   Initially, it’s through Jesus Himself… but it doesn’t stop there.  In a very tangible sense, He overcomes the effects of the world through the lives of His followers. We are to become His support system in each other’s lives.  We truly become friends.

   In other words, no one has to go through life alone. Reach out… be a friend to someone this week.  You never know when you’ll need that friend tomorrow!  And that’s …real life.   ~Pastor Steve Rowe – Eaglebrook Church
