Real Life with Pastor Steve

“Help!  I need somebody. Help, not just anybody!  Help!” ~ The Beatles

   If that weren’t such a memorable line from a famous song, it might just remind us of something else… prayer. 

   Now… here’s where we often divert and go into a discussion on fox-hole prayers, seeking God when times are tough and then leaving Him at the altar when life gets back to normal.    

    That may be true.  However, there are moments in our lives that shake off the dust of this temporary world, and reveal our need for something more… someone more. 

   Our hearts fall back to the basic need to know and be known by our Creator, the Almighty God who loves us more than we can imagine.  So… in those moments… we reach… we cry out… we ask… we acknowledge that there’s someone bigger than us that holds all of this together. 

   What a starting place!  Because the reality is… He IS there, He is listening, and He does want to be in relationship with you – and that implies conversation. And the conversation He desires is one that lasts beyond the crisis moments.  And that’s when the real “help” comes.  So…need help?   Maybe it’s time to reach out to your heavenly Father today.
