Real Life with Pastor Steve

 Do you live as someone trying to earn love… whether it’s God’s love or the love of others… or… are you living as someone who is already loved?    

  There is a huge difference.  If you feel like you have to earn love… from your parents… from others… from God… then you never truly know where you stand.  You never know if what you have done has ever been good enough.  You have all of the vulnerability with none of the security.  And it can be exhausting.  Life on a hamster wheel.  However, if you are living as someone already loved, then there’s a calm, relaxed undercurrent in your life.  There’s an inner peace… a security.  You know… that no matter what, you are loved.  You do not have to be perfect… but you are far less likely to abuse that love or take advantage of it.  It is a gift.  A gift to cherish… to live in.  So… one… will you let others in your life… know that they are loved?  And two… will you embrace the reality that you are loved by God. Stop trying so hard, through good works and religion, to get a glimpse of that love. You just ARE loved by God.  Jesus showed us that.  You do not have to be perfect… for God to love you, any more than the people in your life need to be perfect for you to love them.
