   "In light of recent developments …” ~ the phrase right before everything changes

   Life is just cruising along… then something vital… something you didn’t know yesterday becomes known… and it changes everything.

  New decisions now need to be made.   What was done yesterday just wouldn’t seem appropriate.  Today would have to be different. 

   That could apply to so many things in our lives.  However, let’s apply it to the holiday we just celebrated.  In light of “Easter” Sunday… everything has changed.  New decisions now need to be made… new choices.   

   For example, if you moved to England… then in light of that development, you would need to “unlearn” some things quickly, and re-learn how to drive on the opposite side of the road. In the same way, “Easter” – the Resurrection of Jesus changes everything. It changes how I think, it changes how I view others, it changes the effects of my past, and it permanently changes my future.  Some things that seemed appropriate before, seem woefully inappropriate now.  Things that were important before, suddenly lose their luster or hold on us. In chapter 3 of Paul’s letter to the Colossians, he begins to spell out the difference. And he invites us to enter into that difference. It’s time to trade darkness, death, etc… for light, life, and love. And that’s…real life.  ~ Pastor Steve – Eaglebrook Church
