Real Life with Pastor Steve

Imagine… being dressed to play soccer… but you choose instead to play NFL level football.  How well do you think that would turn out? 

   It would not matter which position you played… or which side of the ball you were on.  We would be woefully unprepared… completely ill equipped, and the chance for serious injury would be fairly likely.  That could rank as one of the most foolish decisions anyone could make.  So… why do we make the same kind of decisions with our lives… only on different levels?  We enter into various “arenas” in life, woefully unprepared, ill-equipped, and we still feel that we are going to be successful.  And then we make matters worse by not listening to those who know what it takes… who know just what we need to equip us and prepare us for what we are currently facing… and what we will face in the future.  May we humbly admit sometimes… that we just need some help, because we are getting pummeled.

  On the spiritual level, that’s what the Apostle Paul is addressing from Ephesians 6.  Our good friend Michael Lane will be teaching this Sunday about what it takes to be fully prepared, equipped to live a godly, Christ-filled life… in the harsh arena of this broken world.  Stop getting pummeled, choose wisdom.
