Who are the people in your life that you are most comfortable with, and why? 

  We all have people in our lives where we can just “be ourselves” around… let our “hair down”… be relaxed with.  No awkwardness.  We don’t always have the same stuff in common (hobbies or interests)… but there’s just a connection, a type of friendship that is real, authentic, meaningful.  And when there is that level of comfort, they are also the ones who can speak into your life when you are “off track.”  If they really care about you, they would not sit idly by, watching you mess up your life.  That’s the type of comfort, love, care we all need, right? It makes us better people.

  Well, it’s interesting that the Apostle Paul uses the term “at home with” to describe how we are to be with God… His word… His presence.  In other words, rather than God being the one that we are most awkward to be around… there should be such a comfort level with God, that we can be ourselves around Him.  But, when we are off track… we trust that He has our best interest at heart.  He loves us, cares for us, and is not going to sit idly by if we are “off track.” And we all need that.  May the word of Christ… and His very presence… be “at home” in your life!
