    Real Life with Pastor Steve

    January 14, 2022

Have you ever had a moment in your life where you’ve said… or at least thought… “I did not ask for this.”

For example… I did not ask for my marriage to fail!  I did not ask for my kids to turn out so rebellious and living away from God!  I did not ask to lose my job. I did not ask for this illness, or for this accident… or for this health issue in my life.  I did not ask to be relocated somewhere.  I did not ask to be separated from my friends because of a move my family had to make.  I did not ask for this financial difficulty. I did not ask for a pandemic to completely turn my business upside down.  Or as it relates to your faith… I did not ask for all the push-back or opposition or even persecution for simply trying to follow Jesus, love like Jesus, and trying to help others follow Jesus.  Folks … there are a lot of things in life that you do not… or did not … ask for. The question is… how do you respond? It’s easy to get stuck, or justify poor decisions.  However, the answer is… to keep living with integrity and good character… and to follow Jesus in the midst of it. And rather than try and dictate an outcome, we trust God for the outcome.  As a result, our heart can stay at peace. And that’s … real life. ~ Pastor Steve Rowe – Eaglebrook Church (And I want to give a humble thank you to those who have made this re-start possible!).
