    Real Life with Pastor Steve

I really hope there’s a bigger purpose for all we’ve just gone through, or at least that something good comes out of it…

Have you ever thought that?  Something totally disruptive happens in your life and you’re like… what???  It takes a while to settle in to a new normal, to adjust, to see new opportunities.  Maybe it’s a new job, a relocation… maybe the kids move back in.  Maybe they suddenly move out.  It could be any number of things from financial, to health, to relationships, and even more.  Starting over is hard, and we often wonder what purpose we now have in this new “season.”  The answer though, is not pining for the past, nor living a life of regret.  The answer is first… just to do what you know to do in that new season.  Then secondly, pray for God to give you new, clear opportunities.  That’s what happened to Aquila and Priscilla, a hard-working couple in the 1st Century.  They had been living in Rome for some time, but along with many other Jews, they had been recently forced to relocate by Imperial order of the Emperor.  They settled in the Greek city of Corinth, and began doing what they knew to do… making tents.  Little did they know that soon after, they would meet the Apostle Paul, and become life-long friends and partners in ministry… and helped to build the church there. May you, like them, discover your purpose, right where you are. And that’s…real life. ~ Pastor Steve – Eaglebrook Church
