Hey dad… I need to tell you a secret!  My oldest daughter when she was little

   It was so cute.  But then what made it even more cute, was when I leaned in for her to tell me… she would turn her head so her ear was facing me.  Priceless!  She didn’t quite get it… and maybe she wanted me … to tell her… a secret.  But either way, it just melted my heart. 

  Well, the truth is, we are all fascinated with secrets and mysteries.  My two favorite book series’ as a kid were the “Hardy Boys” and “Nancy Drew.”  Oh, and of course, my favorite cartoon was Scooby Doo!  Solving mysteries, uncovering secrets… it makes us feel like we are “in the know.”  And… it was fun!

  For centuries, humanity has looked at God as some kind of mystery… the connection with God and humanity as a mystery, full of secrets.  And then there’s the connection just between humanity and each other. Some feel that it is a hidden puzzle, needed to be solved, and only a few get there.  Others, find “clues” and come up with a system… that usually leads nowhere, and ends up hurting others. However, the Apostle Paul said that the mystery is over, and all its “secrets”… have been openly disclosed.  It is found in Jesus, and the way of Jesus… how He treated us.  And the really cool thing?  Everyone can be “in the know!”  And that’s…real life.  ~ Pastor Steve – Eaglebrook Church
