On this side of eternity… in this final chapter of human history… weeds are just part of life. Weeds in our lawns… weeds in our hearts and minds… weeds in our relationships… literal weeds of evil around our fallen world.

People often wonder, “why is there so much evil in the world?” If God were so loving, why does He allow so many to suffer? You could rephrase these questions to ask, “why are there weeds, and when are they going to be eliminated?”

As Jesus continues to teach through parables, this whole idea becomes a keystone of what people were wrestling with, including His disciples.
