Part Three: The Journey Towards God

Throughout the Story of Scripture, God is both near to us, and yet distant from us. He dwells among the People of Israel, and yet His Presence is secluded within the Temple. His glory fills the heavens and the earth, and yet He seems to hide Himself in times of trouble. Even after the finished work of Jesus has now gained us a whole new level of access to God, we still do not seem to be experiencing the fullness of this relationship. Why is this? Why does God Himself often seem to be “so close, yet so far”?
