The innkeeper in Bethlehem sometimes gets a bad rap… but I’m sure he felt bad for Mary & Joseph… maybe even a little embarrassed that all he could make room for was a stable and a manger. It took humility to admit that was available, because it would have been much easier to simply send them on their way. His inn was full… but at least his heart was not.
