As we begin to have a relationship with God, early on it can be very easy for us to think that God exists for us -- that God exists to bless me and to help me. And then, as we grow in our relationship with God, many of us are quick to go to the other extreme, where we think that we exist for God -- that we exist, simply to serve and worship God. But neither one of these extremes is what God is truly inviting us into.
