When God calls us to “love Him with all of our hearts, with all of our minds, and with all of our strength”… this is not about setting the bar impossibly high.  This is an invitation for us to be one just as He is one… to be unified and consistent in all that we are, just as He is perfectly unified.  God doesn’t just want part of us… He wants all of us.  God wants us to know Him, to trust Him, to desire Him and to follow Him.  He wants our actions to match our thoughts and to match our feelings.  He wants our entire being – mind, body, and spirit.  He doesn’t just want us to know certain things, or to do certain things… He wants us… He wants relationship.
