  2024 is about to be behind us, and 2025 is upon us.  What’s going to happen this year?  In the stock market?  In our families? In the Packer’s post-season? In our world where so many nations are in conflict? In so many areas, many may be asking…  What does the future hold?  I have the answer in three words… we… don’t… know.  How reassuring eh!  But hang with me. 

   May I suggest that we’re asking the wrong question.  Knowing the future won’t change our fears today.  However, knowing who holds the future in the very palm of His hand… gives us confidence and strength to live both today… and tomorrow.  You see, it’s not about knowing how things play out… it’s about knowing the God of the universe, no matter how they play out.  If we know the eternal… it will help us be stable in the temporal.  If we anchor our lives in God’s kingdom… in God’s purposes found in Jesus… then what we do… does not change, in spite of what is going on in the fallen world around us.  Yes, these are crazy times.  But may you know the One who transcends time as you start this new year… 2025.  And that’s … real life. ~Pastor Steve Rowe – Eaglebrook Church
