It’s never too late to do the right thing. ~ Conventional wisdom
Sometimes we wait because we are afraid. Sometimes it’s because we are uninformed. Sometimes we wait because we know there will be repercussions or a high price to pay. There are many reasons why we don’t do the right thing earlier.
But past decisions do not have to continue. A new chapter can be written… the right thing can happen now. From sticking up for the kid on the playground who is being bullied… to doing the right thing at work with integrity… to being truthful and honest… to saying you’re sorry… just to name a few… it’s not too late.
Now, if anyone may have thought it was too late, it was a man we’ll call Joe, back in the first century. He had the chance to openly support and follow Jesus as His King, but he didn’t. He was afraid to. He had a lot to lose, including his spot on the ruling council. But on the day Jesus died, rather than seeing that as an end, he saw it as a beginning. He stepped forth as a true disciple of Jesus, and at the risk of losing everything, he very publicly asked for the body of Jesus, and buried Jesus like the King He was. It was not too late to do the right thing, or be on the right side… and three days later, his risk had proven worth it! And that’s … real life. ~Pastor Steve Rowe – Eaglebrook Church
