Momma always knows best! (a practical truth that everyone just “knows!”)
For most of us, our moms did a great job or raising us, looking out for us, protecting us. Yes, there are always exceptions, but I want to focus on those good moms. They always gave sound advice when we left for school (make sure you have your jacket, gloves, shoes). They made sure we had clean underwear when we were traveling. They gave wisdom on decisions great and small. And when we came home with “boo-boos.” knee-scrapes, and bruises… mom was the first-aid caregiver extraordinaire. It’s like she could just “see” what was best for us, even when we could not. Moms are great that way.
As we grow into adulthood, we realize that moms were simply modeling the heart of God for humanity… and for us. When we need wisdom in a situation, especially those that we did not ask for… Jesus is there. When we have ‘scrapes’ and ‘bruises’ in our lives… when the disappointments of a broken world take their toll on us … He is there to bring healing and direction. God truly does know best. He can see what’s best for us, even when we cannot. And as we begin to fully trust Him, we gain strength, confidence, and courage to face whatever it is that life throws at us. And that’s … real life. ~ Pastor Steve Rowe – Eaglebrook Church
